On April 7 and 8, 2020, the SOTE, the Shushufindi - Quito pipeline operated by EP Petroecuador, and the Heavy Crude Oil Pipeline (OCP) broke due to a landslide caused by an erosive process in Coca River. The event occurred between the provinces of Napo and Sucumbíos.
In order to minimize impact, Entrix Latin America worked with Gran Tierra Energy in the scouting of the areas planned for its oil exploration platforms, evaluating the best locations under technical engineering, environmental and social criteria prior to the development of the EIA for the acquisition of the environmental license.
Entrix Latin America has been working with Repsol since 2001, providing specialized technical services for Community Relations management and for reforestation/revegetation activities in Blocks 16 and 67 (Tivacuno).
In 2019, the Entrix Latin America team conducted archaeological research in different areas of the Sucumbíos province, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
The gathering of information in the field included prospecting and archeological reconnaissance, which required the participation of local guides. These guides were previously trained to identify, recover, register and manipulate archaeological objects; promoting the economic development of the localities and reinforcing their cultural knowledge about the pre-Hispanic population that inhabited the place of study.
