On the 4th and 5th of June we celebrated World Environment day by participating in a two-day workshop on Water and Hazardous Materials Management at the Hotel Sevilla de Oro in Shushufindi, Ecuador. The event was organized by the Shushufindi Consortium and counted with the participation of entities such as Shushufindi Consortium, Schlumberger, Petroamazonas EP, ISA, PECS, and Entrix Latin America.

In our work, Entrix Latin America aims to protect the environment and conserve it for future generations.

That’s why, to celebrate this year’s Earth Day, we are sharing some of the field photos our collaborators have captured in the past year. These photos capture the beauty and diversity of our planet and serve as a reminder of why we should work to protect it.

Por eso, para celebrar el Día de la Tierra, queremos compartir algunas de las fotos que han tomado nuestros colaboradores durante sus sesiones de trabajo de campo. Estas fotos capturan la belleza y diversidad de nuestro planeta y son un recordatorio de porqué debemos protegerlo.

Entrix Latin America has been working with Repsol since 2001, providing specialized technical services for Community Relations management and for reforestation/revegetation activities in Blocks 16 and 67 (Tivacuno). 

Entrix Latin America, through its Department of Engineering Services, oversees construction of several large-scale works in consortium with other national and international companies, and government entities.

In 2016, Entrix Latin America completed the Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Management Plan for the Development, Construction, and Maintenance of the Facilities; Dredging, Navigation Channel; and the Operation of the Public Deep Water Port located in the Guayas province, near Guayaquil, in Posorja. This strategic development project undertakes international standards in operations and sustainability, and as such, seeks to conserve the local mangrove ecosystems, among others.

Aligned with this goal, Entrix Latin America conducted the biotic monitoring of crustaceans and mollusks in the mangrove areas near the port’s building site in December 2018. This monitoring project complies with the Environmental Management Plan and the terms of the project’s environmental license, as well as analyzes the populations of existing crustaceans and mollusks in the area.

El 11 de febrero se celebra el Día Internacional de La Mujer y la Niña en la Ciencia, y quisiéramos tomar esta oportunidad para agradecer a todas nuestras colaboradoras ingenieras, biólogas, y otras disciplinas que colaboran dentro de nuestra empresa de servicios socioambientales, vinculados fundamentalmente a la ciencia. Gracias a ustedes, avanzamos la responsabilidad ambiental y social corporativa dentro de los países en que operamos, y estamos orgullos de nuestro equipo, en el cual 43% son mujeres!

Este 4 y 5 de junio se celebró el Día Mundial del Ambiente con unas jornadas de capacitación ambiental sobre la Gestión del Agua y Materiales Peligrosos. El evento se llevó acabo en el Hotel Sevilla de Oro en Shushufindi, duró dos días y fue organizado por el Consorcio Shushufindi, además, contó con la participación del Consorcio Shushufindi, Schlumberger, Petroamazonas EP, ISA, PECS, y Entrix Latin America.

 On April 7 and 8, 2020, the SOTE, the Shushufindi - Quito pipeline operated by EP Petroecuador, and the Heavy Crude Oil Pipeline (OCP) broke due to a landslide caused by an erosive process in Coca River. The event occurred between the provinces of Napo and Sucumbíos.

En colaboración con nuestros clientes, el Consorcio Shushufindi, Petroamazonas EP y Schlumberger, Entrix Latin America contribuyó en la mejora de la educación juvenil en la comunidad Dayuma de la región amazónica del Ecuador. A través de nuestros clientes, Entrix Latin America donó equipos de computación y mobiliaria en beneficio de la Unidad Educativa Dayuma, la Escuela de Educación Básica Fiscal Mixta San Miguel y la Escuela José María Egas, entre otros.

In collaboration with our clients— the Shushufindi Consortium, Petroamazonas EP and Schlumberger— Entrix Latin America contributed towards improving young students’ education in the Dayuma community of the Ecuadorean Amazon region. Through our clients, Entrix Latin America donated computer equipment and furniture benefiting the Dayuma Educational Unit, San Miguel Basic Education Public School, and the Jose Maria Egas School, among others.

Entrix Latin America, a través de su Departamento de Servicios de Ingeniería, fiscaliza la construcción de varias obras grandes en consorcio con otras compañías nacionales e internacionales, e identidades gubernamentales.

On February 11, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our collaborators who are female engineers, biologists, and other disciplines that contribute toward conducting our socio-environmental services, fundamentally linked to science. Thanks to you, we help advance corporate social and environmental responsibility within the countries in which we operate. We are proud of our team, of which 43% are women!

Entrix Latin America is currently collaborating with and supervising a Mangrove Reforestation Project, led by the CALISUR Foundation, in the Island of Puná, in the Guayas province of the Ecuadorian coastal region. The Reforestation Project consists of the vegetation of 65 hectares of mud embankments, suitable for the growth of mangroves, in which more than 100,000 red mangrove (Rhizophora sp.) seedlings will be planted by the year 2020.

Entrix Latin America works in the conservation and monitoring of biodiversity in areas of great ecological importance, such as the Cordillera del Cóndor in Ecuador. Thus, together with a team of scientists from the National Polytechnic School, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and experts from the Ecuadorian Museum of Natural Sciences, Entrix Latin Americaconducted faunal assessments on the upper Machinaza River located between 1,200 and 2,200 m above sea level, on the mountainous forests of the western slopes of the Cordillera del Cóndor, located in the south-east of the country.

El 7 y 8 de abril de 2020 debido al hundimiento y deslizamiento de tierra producto de un proceso erosivo en el cauce del río Coca se produjo la rotura del SOTE, el poliducto Shushufindi – Quito operados por EP Petroecuador, y del Oleoducto de Crudos Pesados (OCP). El evento ocurrió entre las provincias de Napo y Sucumbíos, en el sector del Reventador, cascada de San Rafael.

This past June, Edgar Paucar, Environmental Monitor at Entrix Latin America, worked along with two other people from the wildlife rescue brigade team, to rescue and release a caiman crocodilus that was trapped in a platform in the Sucumbios Province in Ecuador.
